PC Programs

PCNuDat

PCNUDAT is an MS-DOS/Windows version of the NNDC Online Data Service data base NUDAT. It consists of nuclear ground- and metastable-state, decay data, adopted level and gamma, and thermal neutron properties. All files, except for the README's, are binary and should be loaded to local disk. The file NDT27_16.EXE is self-extracting and consists of the latest version of the program and a sample data base consisting of the information for A=40 to 50 and other database files. The data bases were updated on Aug. 12, 1999. To update an existing PCNuDat data base:

1. Using ftp in the binary mode, transfer the four zip files (LEVELS.ZIP, GAMMAS.ZIP, RADTIONS.ZIP, and OTHERDB.ZIP) to your PC. You may also click on the files on this page and save them on your PC's disk.
2. Unzip the four zip files to your PCNUDAT directory (i.e. \PCNUDAT\DB) and they will overwrite the following files:

ENSDAT

The program ENSDAT (Evaluated Nuclear Structure Drawings And Tables) is similiar to the production program for the Nuclear Data Sheets but more limited in its application. Only ENSDF data files can be used as input and a PostScript file and report file are the only output. As the default, all possible tables, band drawings, and gamma drawings are done for each dataset encountered in the input file. However, it is possible to choose one or more of these types of output. In addition, it is possible to modify the default tables and drawings by adding commands to the input file using control cards. (See the file ENSCOMDS.TXT.) A final page is output to the PostScript file which gives a listing of all the keynumbers encountered in the input file. COMTRANS

The program COMTRANS is a nuclear structure evaluator tool for translating comments in the Evaluated Nuclear Structures Data File (ENSDF) from the all upper case form to an upper/lower case rich text type form. In addition, it converts older files from a noncompliant Y2K form into the new Y2K compliant form.
